Who is Talenteum?

Talenteum was founded in 2015 according to its LinkedIn page, and its website refers to "more than 10 years" of activity. Its head office is in Quatre Bornes, Mauritius; the outlet FrenchWeb already described it in 2017 as "based in Mauritius". The privacy policy names "Talenteum Ltd" as the operator of the site. The registration number, legal address and revenue are not published.

The company was founded by two entrepreneurs, according to its About page. It says it appears in 2026, for "the third time", in the Financial Times ranking of high-growth African companies. On 20 October 2026, Platform Africa reported that Talenteum leads the remote placement component of the Mastercard Foundation Associates programme, with a target of 500 placements.

The founders subsequently launched Breedj.com. In an interview published by Les Pépites Tech in June 2025, they describe Breedj as "born from the experience with Talenteum, our first platform". Talenteum's website says it uses Breedj's technology for sourcing, contracts and payroll.

What services does Talenteum offer?

The Talenteum home page highlights three offers: "Remote staffing", "Outsourcing" and "Employer of record". The French version of the site translates Employer of Record as "portage salarial" (a French umbrella-employment arrangement), that is, a placement in which a third party is the talent's official employer. According to Talenteum, the talent is employed in their own country by a local entity, or works as a freelancer "according to the agreement with the client".

The stated service includes contracts compliant with local law, international payroll, taxes and contributions, legal monitoring and payment in local currency. The client does not need to set up an entity in the talent's country.

Profiles offered: virtual assistance, software development, customer support, data entry, community management, administrative assistance, digital marketing, back-office and financial analysis. The target sectors are technology, finance and customer service. The working languages announced are English, French, Portuguese and local languages.

Talenteum claims a pool of more than 16,000 remote professionals, selected through skills and language tests.

On lead times, the site sometimes states "less than 48 hours" to get started (Employer of Record page), and sometimes a shortlist of candidates within 7 to 14 working days after the need is validated (FAQ). The two statements do not describe the same stage.

How much does Talenteum cost?

Talenteum publishes a single priced rate. Its Pricing page shows €390 per month per employee for the Employer of Record offer. The FAQ specifies that this is a service fee "starting from" €390, covering human resources, payroll, compliance and performance monitoring. The talent's salary is negotiated separately and is added to these fees.

According to the Pricing page, this offer also includes recruitment, work permit assistance and payroll, with "100% guaranteed compliance". Remote staffing and HR outsourcing are on quotation: their price "varies according to your needs". The minimum commitment, trial period, set-up fees and billing frequency are not published. Talents are paid monthly in local currency.

Where do Talenteum's teams work?

Talenteum's talents work remotely from their own country. The site states sometimes 16 countries (About and Employer of Record pages), sometimes 11 countries on the Countries page, and sometimes 8 countries in the FAQ. The longest list includes Morocco, Tunisia, South Africa, Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Burundi, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Rwanda, South Sudan, Uganda, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Senegal and Tanzania. The Countries page adds Benin.

Madagascar, Mauritius, Morocco, Tunisia, Kenya, Rwanda, Senegal and Ivory Coast appear in all three lists. No city is specified, nor the time zones covered. No certification, for example ISO 27001 for information security, is mentioned on the site.

What do reviews say about Talenteum?

As of 24 October 2026, no verifiable client or employee review could be linked to Talenteum. There is no active Trustpilot page for talenteum.com, and no Glassdoor or Indeed profile matching the company was found. Several online reviews concern companies with similar names, such as Talentum or Talentium: they should not be attributed to Talenteum.

Talenteum's website displays testimonials from four clients: Angage, Hunteed, Courtage & Co and Voyya.

What are Talenteum's strengths?

  • A published rate for the Employer of Record offer, which allows a first estimate.

  • Stated coverage of many African countries, in English, French and Portuguese.

  • Stated handling of local contracts, payroll and contributions, with no local entity to set up.

  • Long-standing activity: founded in 2015 according to LinkedIn, present in the press since 2017.

  • A stated social positioning: the goal of helping one million professionals in developing countries obtain a full-time remote job.

Points to check before choosing Talenteum

  1. Which entity signs the contract? Ask for its company name, registration number and address.

  2. What is the total monthly cost? Service fee, salary, local social charges, bank fees and exchange rate.

  3. What does a remote staffing quote include? Ask for details on equipment, minimum commitment, notice period and exit fees.

  4. In which countries is the service operational today? The site cites 16, 11 or 8 countries depending on the page.

  5. What is the real lead time between the need and the start? "Less than 48 hours" or 7 to 14 working days for a shortlist?

  6. What guarantees on data? The privacy policy states that data may be transferred outside the country of residence: ask for the safeguards required under the GDPR (the European data protection regulation).

  7. What replacement is offered if the talent is not a fit?

  8. What is the relationship with Breedj? Check whether the offer and billing are the same as Breedj's.

Which companies is Talenteum suited to?

According to its website, Talenteum targets international companies in technology, finance and customer service. Its offer suits a company that wants to employ a talent in a specific African country without setting up a subsidiary there, or that needs English-, French- or Portuguese-speaking profiles.

Companies that require a published total cost, a data security certification or verifiable client reviews will need to obtain these directly from Talenteum.

What are the alternatives to Talenteum?

Information as declared by each company.

Oworkers

Oworkers is a multilingual outsourcing provider (BPO, Business Process Outsourcing). Its salaried teams work on site in Bulgaria, Madagascar, Egypt, Kenya and the Philippines. The company states ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certifications and does not publish a priced rate.

Scale My Crew

Scale My Crew builds full-time dedicated teams for European very small businesses and SMEs, based in Madagascar and hired on local permanent contracts (CDI, open-ended contracts). The company states "no upfront commitment" and does not publish a rate.

MaaSil Inc

MaaSil Inc, the publisher of this article, has its head office in Paris. It offers a placement of consultants based in Madagascar, of the umbrella-employment type. According to MaaSil, these consultants are 100% integrated into the client's teams; MaaSil handles recruitment, the contract and payroll.

MaaSil publishes its pricing: €55 to €100 excl. VAT per day for general profiles, or around €1,150 excl. VAT per month, and €120 to €250 excl. VAT per day for senior developers. Talenteum's EoR rate, which excludes salary, is therefore not directly comparable. MaaSil states about one month to recruit; its method is described on the Why us page.

MaaSil is best suited to French-speaking SMEs, startups and mid-sized companies that want to integrate dedicated staff in support functions, back-office or IT. It is less suited to high-volume call centres, 24-hour multilingual operations, very short projects and needs located exclusively in France. To employ a talent in an African country other than Madagascar, a multi-country player such as Talenteum is more appropriate.
